We Store (Good Smelling) Stuff with High Density Mobile Shelving

By Stuffey | January 8, 2020

“We store stuff.” No matter how many times I utter that mantra to my customers, inevitably someone greets me with a “How is business now that paper is going away?” My response: “Business is booming.”

Why? Because if you thought companies used to have a lot of paper, you should see all the stuff they have and the havoc it reeks when it’s unorganized, lost or unaccounted for.

Take Bath and Body Works for example. Headquartered in Columbus, Ohio, they sell millions of soaps, candles and the like, rotating the items that are sold in stores by season. As the seasons change the marketing department is responsible for creating ad campaigns, developing new gift packages and designing the store layouts. They keep samples of every product they sell in the corporate office for this very purpose.

Prior to working with Patterson Pope, the samples were everywhere. There was no central storage room, inventory list or tracking system. Items were piled on desks, lost in someone’s cube, etc. The idea came to them to create a library of all their samples, organized by season and type and checked in an out much like a library book.

Patterson Pope worked closely with the Marketing Department and the Sample Room Manager to design a room that met their needs of storing odd sized items and allowed room for growth. FrameWRX Shelving with plastic bins, 4-Post Shelving, and Eclipse Powered High Density Mobile Shelving were all used to help save space and keep everything organized. The employees now rave about the room and how easy it is for them to access what they need, when they need it.

Five years later they are looking to expand that room and they have called in the stuff storage experts at Patterson Pope to help.

Business is booming.

New call-to-action
